Read this information before relying on internet-based business phone service for emergency calls. Emergency calling may work differently from a traditional fixed landline.
Power and internet are required
Internet-dependent calling may be unavailable during power loss, internet outages, equipment failure, or service interruption. Have an alternative way to call emergency services, such as a working cellular phone.
Keep your registered location accurate
Emergency calling depends on the service location associated with the phone or number. Provide an accurate, complete address, including suite or floor details where needed. Tell VoCall before moving equipment or changing locations. Location updates may take time to become effective.
Mobile and remote use
A registered business address may not match your current physical location when using a device remotely. Understand the emergency calling behavior of each supported device and calling application before use. Do not assume automatic location detection.
Tell the operator where you are
If you place an emergency call, clearly state your current location and callback number. A call may be routed differently or require additional information compared with a traditional landline.
Inform everyone who uses the service
Make sure employees, visitors, and other users understand these limitations and know the available alternatives. Keep location information and emergency procedures accessible.
Availability and review
E911 configuration is available for supported service locations and must be confirmed during setup. Review the emergency calling terms in your service agreement. If you are experiencing an emergency now, use an available phone to contact emergency services; the website support form is not an emergency channel.
